They also do some event like Apex with 5€/5$ lootbox but I dislike that so I don't buy, but you have many skin earnable by playing so it's less infuriating than Apex

The only cosmetics which cost real money are Pro League skin (to support a team, or the esport scene in general) or the Elite Set (a new uniform for a character + some extra like a animation). The microtransactions are great too, the price of the game is pretty low so Ubisoft have to make microtransactions, however instead of Apex if you don't want to pay you can play and earn currency to buy skin/uniform/. If you want to start, good luck, the start will be a little hard due of the variety of the operators and the number of map, don't give up and learn )

BATTLE ROYALE GAMES AND GAMBLING ADDICTIONS FOR FREE

Instead of a fucking whale i'm just gonna be a little fucking dolphin from now on, playing the game for free and not giving you a cent or not playing at all, since you have already cashed in far more than you deserve for all the "content" you've created so far, and all you seem interested in is pushing the limits on that, instead of fixing code: leafĪ few years I think, I play since the launch (even before with the beta) and the game has improved so much, and they say at the launch "We are here to stay", the esport scene has improved a lot also, so the game has again some time I think. turned it into a EA sponsored case-study of the greediest possible model. You got millions upon millions of players you didn't expect to get, and look what you have done with it. Your only luck is that the game is actually FUN to play. but you're out of your damn mind if you think you can just keep pumping out low-effort content, battlepass after battlepass, to milk people like me, not giving a fuck about most of your playerbase, and when you actually DO spend some time on something, you make it cost 5 times as much as it should.

Season 2 battlepass cosmetics were YET AGAIN complete lazy ass dogshit, but I bought the battle pass anyway, because that's what I do and I wanted to support the game, hoping that the next season might be better. Have you ever seen a game with lazier cosmetics than Apex? Just copy and paste a pattern on every Legend and every Weapon? And then have like 4 Legendaries (Read: actual skins) for each Legend/Weapon, which you couldn't even buy though, you had to save up crafting materials ( FROM PACKS) or wait for it to be in the store at a 25% discount?Īnd when they finally come with some skins which aren't completely shit, they lock them behind 700 Apex Coins packs which only give you A CHANCE to get them?īase game is fun, launch cosmetics were "okay", Season 1 battlepass cosmetics were complete dogshit but I bought it anyway. Except that, looking back at it now, the cosmetics FUCKING SUCKED. Cool, not a big issue for me, I like the gameplay, I like to buy stuff, I like to look cool in-game and Respawn needs some revenue. But Respawn, being a game developer, wants money, so - copying other microtransaction games - they add cosmetics and Apex Packs.

So basically you have a game which took very little effort to make - it's more like a mod for a game that already exists - so they make it Free To Play. Even the fucking Respawn Ship is from Titanfall 2. All the buildings and props are from Titanfall 2. Now - I knew for a long time that Apex is a game built on Titanfall 2 foundations - but I never realized the true scope of it. If you've followed devs talking about Apex, you already know that the game started as a Battle Royale for Titanfall 2 and was supposed to be a test of sorts, before Respawn realized that it is actually fun to play. Yet the first thing that ran through my mind upon seeing skins and banners locked inside 700 Apex Coin packs and 3,500 Apex Coin heirloom was: "WHY should I spend so much money on content that should've been in the Battlepass?"Īnd suddenly, I, for the first time, saw Apex for what it was.

I am not a person who values money as much as they should. As you might've deduced already, I am not a person who is smart with their money. So the event went live, I launched the game, went into the shop, and. And I was planning on spending some money again when the Iron Crown event came, only because I like the game. Even though I've only been playing on and off, racking up 350 hours since launch, and only managed to "grind" into Gold 2 in ranked so far, I've already spent about $400-$500 on the game.

I guess you could say I'm EA's target audience - a so called WHALE - I often spend money I don't have on things I don't need, Apex being no exception. I've been playing since day 1 a couple hours a week.
